Sensing Place: A Summer Photo Workshop

Photographer and naturalist Cherrie Corey leads an exploration of deCordova's natural and artistic landscape to capture the nuances of the Sculpture Park in the glorious summer season. Create inspirational and memorable images while challenging and strengthening outdoor photography skills. Corey, who lived in the heart of Thoreau country for the last forty years, has chronicled the beauty, moods, and rhythms of its landscapes in thousands of photographic images. This workshop will build on delightfully successful workshops held here over the past few years which have opened participants to revelations of perception, hallmarks of the season, and a renewed sense of adventure with their cameras. No photography experience necessary. Participants use their own photographic equipment of any type (smart phones, film or digital cameras are all ok). About the Artist Cherrie Corey’s interpretive perspectives have evolved through more than 25 years of professional museum experience in the Boston area, her formative role in the region’s environmental education initiatives, her passionate lifelong pursuits of natural history study and photography, and her Buddhist studies and practice. Cherrie’s photographs have appeared extensively in both installations and publications for the Concord Museum, the Concord Land Conservation Trust, and Concord’s Department of Natural Resources.
