      Urban Foraging

If you think farmer’s markets are the only way to procure local fruits and vegetables, think again! On Monday, July 16th, 2012, Executive Chef Josh Lewin of the Beacon Hill Hotel & Bistro will lead students through an urban foraging dinner at the Boston Center for Adult Education (BCAE). The latest take on the locavore movement, urban foraging puts the spotlight on the oft overlooked ingredients that are growing up all around you. Students will learn the basics of urban foraging, and discover how to take full advantage of readily available public culinary resources. Students will then learn how to use foraged finds to create a multi-course meal that includes two light courses, an entrée, and a dessert. Don’t miss this chance to find out what’s growing right outside your front door. Registration is necessary and can be made by visiting www.bcae.org.
