      Whether you are a novice or a pro, this seminar will boost your clinical skills and your confidence. Held in Boston, MA, this continuing education seminar provides in-depth knowledge of intravenous therapy and venipuncture skills with hands-on participation to enhance the learning process. You will learn how to properly insert a peripheral IV catheter and understand important risks and complications associated with IVs.

      The seminar content includes venous anatomy as it applies to IV therapy, legal aspects of IV therapy, osmolality and pH of infusates, implications of intravenous therapies, infusion flow control measures, infection control measures, PIV catheter insertion, peripheral IV catheter insertion technique, documentation guidelines and more.

      Criteria for successful completion:
      * Required attendance for the entire seminar
      * Submission of completed evaluation

      7.0 contact hours of continuing nursing education will be awarded upon successful completion of the program. Instructional materials and a continental breakfast are also provided.

We keep you informed of the latest advances in technology and practice guidelines.If you prefer to practice with specificvenipuncture products used at your facility, please bring a catheters for practice. 

      Goal: Attendees will learn to initate and maintain peripheral intravenous therapy.

        10. Describe nursing measures to prevent and manage complications.
