      The Salem Witch Trials happened over 300 years ago, and it has been dramatized in books, movies, documentaries, and even TV shows. Over the years it has been presented so many times in so many ways that some of the real history gets lost. This tour seeks to uncover the myths, and debunk any misconceptions you might have about the Salem Witch Trials. This walking tour lasts approximately 1 hour, and travels 1 mile around downtown Salem, including stops at the Old Burying Point Cemetery, Witch Trials Memorial, and the site of the original 17th century jail.  FAQs How long is the tour and where does it go? The tour lasts 1 hour, and tavels 1 mile around downtown Salem, including stops at the Old Burying Point Cemetery, Witch Trials Memorial, and the site of the original 17th century jail.  Where does this tour leave from? All tours leave from the National Park Service Visitor Center at 2 New Liberty Street.  When should I arrive? Please make sure to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to your tour time to check in with Essex Heritage staff. All tours leave promptly at the scheduled time.  Do I have to bring my printed ticket? No, just provide the name you used to order the tickets and the number of tickets you purchased. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? (The closest parking to the Visitor Center where the tour leaves from is the Garage at 1 New Liberty Street.) Is this tour handicap accesible? No, some of the areas that the tour goes including the Old Burying Point Cemetery and the Witch Memorial are uneven, narrow, dirt paths that are not easily nagivated with wheelchairs or motorized scooters.
