      EVENT DETAILS
Boston Global Women's Breakfast: Empowering Women in Chemistry

On February 12th 2019 chemists worldwide will be coming together as part of IUPACs global breakfast initiative in honor of the International Year of the Periodic Table and the 100th anniversary of IUPAC. Entitled “Empowering Women in Chemistry: A Global Networking Event”, the Boston breakfast celebration will be held at the Amgen site in Cambridge, MA. We will hear from Margaret Chu-Moyer, the Vice-President of Research at Amgen and Rebecca Ruck, the Director of Process Chemistry at Merck and they will speak about some of the challenges they have faced throughout their careers, including how to overcome, persevere; and ways in which they work to promote women in chemistry. We would love for you to be a part of this ground-breaking event that aims to bring together women chemists, both students and professionals, and those who support and advocate for women in chemistry. We look forward to meeting you at the Empowering Women in Chemistry: A Global Networking Event! This event would not be possible without our sponsors! Our thanks go to: Northeastern University Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology Amgen De Gruyter Pfizer Northeastern Office of Institutional Diversity and Inclusion If your company would be interested in supporting the breakfast via a financial contribution, or through in-kind donations, please reach out to Lori Ferrins (l.ferrins@northeastern.edu) for more information! Registration is required and an ID will be required to enter the venue. What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? The Amgen site is readily accessible using the MBTA Red Line. Get off at the Kendall Square stop and it is a 10 minute walk to the site. For those who wish to drive, there is also limited parking available at One Kendall Square Garage. How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions. The best person to contact is Lori Ferrins (l.ferrins@northeastern.edu).
